Plot

Episode IV begins with a Rebel Ship attempting to escape from an evil Imperial Cruiser. On board is the plans for the Empires Ultimate Weapon, the Death Star, with enough force to blow up an entire planet. Leia Organa is on board the ship with the plans. As their ship is boarded she hides the plans in R2-D2 a droid. R2-D2 is to give them to Obi-Wan Kenobi who is on the planet below, called Tatooine so he can give them to the Rebel Alliance. 

R2-D2 and his counterpart C-3PO begin their search for the old, hermit named Obi-Wan. They were found by Jawas and sold to Luke Skywalker. As he cleans the droids he discovers the plans and a message adressed to Obi-Wan Kenobi. As he delivers them to him his foster parents are murdered by Imperial troopers and he is forced to go with Obi-Wan Kenobi to the hidden Rebel Base on board the Millenium Falcon, piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca. 

When they arrive at Aldaaran, where the Rebel's are based, they discover that it has been destroyed by the Death Star. Before they can escape they are caught in the Battle Station's Tractor Beam. As their ship enters the Death Star, they hide in Solo's smuggler compartments, and aren't found by the Imperials. They retreat to a room in the Death Star and hide there. Obi-Wan commands them to stay there while he turns off the tractor beam so they can escape. Shortly after his departure they discover that the Princess from the Rebel Alliance is imprisoned in the Death Star and is awaiting her execution. They escape on the Millenium Falcon with her, but without Kenobi as he is struck down in a lightsaber fight with Darth Vader. 

Without their knowledge, Stormtroopers had planted a tracking beacon on their ship, and as they headed towards the Rebel's secret base, the Death Star followed. When they discover the Battle Station's approach, they launched X-Wings to destroy it. Luke destroys the Death Star through a weakness discovered in the stolen plans.
